Summary:
APROPOS-Advancing Process in Politics is recruiting an enthusiastic and detail-oriented intern for the Open European Dialogue.
About us:
APROPOS is a non-profit, politically neutral think tank. It operates in the field of democratic innovation and specializes in the development and implementation of process design methods for the political sphere. We are a collective of practitioners, researchers and policy thinkers, largely operating out of Berlin and Rome. We are process designers, facilitators, political dialogue conveners, and political analysts. Our working language is English.
We coordinate the work of the Open European Dialogue, Europe's first dialogue platform for elected policymakers. We work primarily with members of national parliaments as well as European and regional parliaments. Our members meet regularly, online and in-person, to participate in multilateral and thematic activities on key political challenges, such as economic governance, digital taxation, migration and border security, measures of well-being, democratic innovation, and more.
Your functions:
Logistical and administrative support with planning and implementation of workshops for the Open European Dialogue policymakers’ network (online and in-person)
Stakeholder communication with policymakers in 27+ countries in Europe
Manage spreadsheets for internal or external use
Regularly update content on the Open European Dialogue’s website (WordPress) and social media (Twitter, LinkedIn)
Collaborate in brainstorming sessions with the APROPOS team and the Open European Dialogue partners
Research and analysis of EU affairs and broader geopolitical, economic and societal trends
Requirements:
Undergraduate or graduate student
Intellectual curiosity and the ability to work independently as part of a remote team
Effective communication skills
Excellent organizational skills combined with the ability to work well under pressure
Excellent analytical and writing skills
Knowledge of or strong interest in European politics
Experience with political communication is an asset
Familiarity with Trello, Miro, WordPress, InDesign and Mailchimp is an advantage
Fluency in English
What we offer:
Start date: 8 January.
Fully remote internship
Three-month contract. Possibility of employment (in Berlin) after the internship period (4-day workweek).
Internship remuneration: 500,00 € / month
Home-office personal budget: 100,00 €
Join dialogues and policy workshops, alongside think tankers, experts and politicians from all over Europe
Learn the basics of Political Process Design and Dialogue Facilitation
Possibility to meet the APROPOS team at least once during the internship period (location TBD). Even more, if you are in Berlin or Rome!
