Update | APROPOS X Adaptive Leadership Festival

In early June, APROPOS took part in the inaugural Adaptive Leadership Festival (Festival della Leadership Adattiva), hosted by our long-time partner the Adriano Olivetti Leadership Institute (OLI) at the Triennale di Milano, where our team was humbled to be engaged as process designers, community managers and adaptive leadership experts. Chiara Rosselli, Executive Director of APROPOS, led a panel discussion on “Leadership in the Workplace: The Cost of Participation”, engaging with Arrigo Berni, former CEO of Moleskine; Rachele Sessa, Director of Fondazione Ergo; and Giovanna Gregori, Executive Director of AIDAF (the Italian Family Business Association) and a seasoned Corporate Reputation and Sustainability Advisor.

The festival brought together a diverse community of thinkers and practitioners to examine the posture each of us can adopt in times of uncertainty, complexity, and change — times that are often also marked by fear, and how to activate the lenses of Adaptive Leadership in order to contribute meaningfully to and take responsibility for our own communities, both professional and social.

Discussions centred on what it truly means to contribute: the capacity to accept loss, the courage to act despite adverse circumstances, and the willingness to embrace the responsibility of leadership and its consequences, rather than avoid them.

At its core, the festival affirms that leadership is not merely a personal trait but a collective, adaptive capacity — one that can and must be cultivated, trained, and sustained.
